Equipment

  • 1 2 1/2 Gallon, Hefty Jumbo Slider Bag

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Saltine Crackers (4 full sleeves)
  • 3 tbsp Ranch Dressing Seasoning Mix (1.0 oz package)
  • 2 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper powder
  • 2 1/4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 cup Corn Oil

Instructions

  • Combine dry spices in a bowl and set aside.
  • Empty 4 sleeves of saltine crackers into the jumbo slider bag. IMPORTANT: Be careful not to over stuff the bags or the seasoning won't distribute evenly. Four sleeves is the max that should go into the jumbo bag.
  • Add the dry spice mix to the bag, seal, and turn several times to mix well.
  • Drizzle 1 cup of corn oil over top over the crackers in the bag. Seal the bag and turn several times to coat crackers with oil and spices.
  • Wait 10 minutes and turn over several times to spread spices.
  • Repeat for an hour or until all oil is absorbed. The longer the crackers sit, the spicier they get!

Notes

The above will give you a very spicy cracker. If you want to adjust for spice preference, do the following:
  • Want to die spice: Use 1.5 tbsp cayenne pepper powder in place of the cayenne and chili powder combo.
  • Medium spice: Use the recipe as listed.
  • Mild spice: Use 4 tsp chili powder and 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • No spice: Use 1.5 tbsp chili powder in place of the cayenne and chili powder combo.
